The Report shows the Government is leading the way in its efforts to achieve equal representation on boards and reach its target of 50 per cent women on Government boards.
Women now hold 42.7 per cent Government positions overall – a more than two percentage point increase since 2016.

Women also comprised 46.2 per cent of the 729 appointees who secured board positions over 2016-17. The proportion of women holding Chair and Deputy Chair positions has held relatively steady since last year, and was 42.7 per cent at 30 June 2017.
