Welcome Trish Bergin – First Assistant Secretary of the Office for Women

Trish Bergin commenced in the role of First Assistant Secretary (FAS), Office for Women, in September 2017, after moving from the position of FAS of People, Parliamentary and Communication at Department of Education. Her current role builds on her expertise as a senior executive leader and as a management consultant with experience across the public, private and community sectors.

In the private sector, Trish exemplified women's leadership by running her own consulting business and holding the roles of General Manager and Regional Director with SMS Management & Technology and Hudson Global Resources in Canberra. She is, fittingly, a sought-after board member in the not-for-profit sector.

Trish has also been a vocal champion of women's leadership and brings together a focus on economic and labour market policy to bear on key issues impacting gender equality and women's economic participation.

Trish said she is very excited to be working in the role of First Assistant Secretary of the Office for Women. “It is a great privilege to be in such a position and I want to work in partnership with government, not for profits and the business sectors to advance gender equality, women’s safety and security and leadership.” Trish said.
